And now for something completely strange...

Taking a quick break from deadlines, and the Poe sculpt.... and I was inspired to sculpt a few Waterbears. Yes, I know how odd that may be :~)


I might grey them down a bit. ??? These guys are Sculpey Ultra Light clay colored with chalk pastels. The damask background was chalk and colored pencil.


PS: If you've never heard of a waterbear, go look it up! Very interesting little critters....

...two pages of brainstorming in my sketchbook. I want to show Poe writing 'the Gold-Bug' on Sullivan's Island.





Here's a more finalized sketch. Still a few things to tweak here & there, but I think I'm ready to begin with clay....
